Rev. Prof. Dr. Dietrich Werner calls for a values-based transformation of the global economy, urging global leaders to adopt the Multi-Faith Economic Index and Multi-Faith Economy Mark to be launched at the Shape the World Summit this 15 October 2026.

Ahead of the gathering in London, Consulus has received a major endorsement from the Globethics Foundation, a leading global network for ethical leadership.
Rev. Prof. Dr. Dietrich Werner, President of the Globethics Foundation, has officially voiced his support for these tools, highly recommending their widespread adoption by faith actors globally. In his official message of support for the upcoming congress, Dr. Werner stated:
“Very few people are aware of how much wealth religious groups hold globally — the UNEP calls them the “third-largest economic power on Earth.” But research shows they own approximately $5 trillion in assets through investments, land, schools, and hospitals. This gives them a massive, but largely unknown, influence.
So, how can we measure the good these investments do? How can we be sure they’re actually supporting ethical values and a community-focused economy? To answer this, Consulus has created a new tool: the Multi-Faith Economic Index. It’s the first tool in the world to give a practical “score” for how ethical, socially responsible, and faith-aligned any investment is.
People often say, ‘Money and morals don’t mix.’ But we’re showing that’s no longer true. With the Multi-Faith Economy Mark, we can measure if an investment is ethical, just as we can measure a company’s profits. This provides a clear, practical guide for religious groups and ethical investors. Globethics Foundation highly recommends these tools and hopes they are used widely to support a values-based transformation of the global economy.
The final goal is a better economy that moves from injustice to justice, where everyone can participate, and that cares for the environment. These goals aren’t achieved with just ‘nice words’ or new rules, but with a different style of economic leadership — one based on ethical principles and voluntary commitment to responsibility. Consulus is a real-world example of this kind of ethical leadership, and the Multi-Faith Economy Index and Mark have our full support.“
As the world faces mounting ecological and social crises, the transition toward a community-driven economy will require more than good intentions. Thanks to the groundbreaking metrics being championed at the Shape the World Summit, global faith leaders now have the empirical tools they need to lead that transformation.
Attendance is by invitation only, with limited seating.
